We help you find the right
solutions for you.
Aurora Family Mediation works with couples and families in the process of separation or divorce to help them find the most amicable, cost-effective solution possible. Whether you are married or cohabiting, with or without children, we can help you.
We are trained family and divorce lawyers and mediators. Nicolette Zarka is an FMC Accredited mediator (FMCA). Nicolette Zarka is recognised by the Family mediation council (“FMC”) to carry out mediation. Not all family mediators are recognised by the FMC. We are recognised to carry out Mediation information and assessment meetings (“MIAMS”). We understand that when a relationship breaks down it is a stressful and difficult time for everyone involved. We will work with both of you providing a safe, secure environment where you can discuss your issues calmly and we will help you find the best solution possible.
We offer Legal aid for family mediation in our Hitchin Office (public funding). Speak to us if you think you may be eligible for this funding. You would not have to pay for mediation if you obtain Legal aid.
We are Members of the Family Mediation Voucher Scheme whch means that we can obtain funding towards your mediation if you would like to talk about arrangements for your children for some or all of the mediation. This voucher covers up to £500 of the cost of mediation and is not means tested.

At Aurora family mediation we provide a completely personal confidential service. We understand that no two couples will have exactly the same problems. We know that you will both be having a difficult and upsetting time and we work with you to find the best solution for you, to suit your timescale and in a cost effective way.
We are accredited family mediators (FMCA). See details of our accreditations and skills.
As a mediator with over 20 years experience in mediation and recognised by the FMC Nicolette Zarka is also a qualified lawyer so she and her team are in the unique position to be able to provide you with not only the best mediation service but combine it with our knowledge of the legal areas surrounding separation.
Aurora family mediation is completely customer focused. Once you have decided you wish to proceed we offer a speedy first appointment and an efficient service. We can also offer you out of hours and weekend appointments.
Many people come to mediation because they would like to work out their arrangements together with input from an impartial specially trained mediator. We help you focus discussions and give information where this may be of use.
At Aurora family mediation we explain the process in an initial meeting in which we take basic information from you and prepare for a first full meeting. We are happy to speak to you on the telephone to answer any questions about the process free of charge.

What Our Clients Say...
Professional Practice
Consultancy and Mentoring
Nicolette Zarka is a professional practice consultant for other mediators. All mediators registered with the Family mediation Council (FMC) must have a Professional Practice Consultant who they will see for at least 4 hours each year. In addition, they would call on their PPC to discuss any concerns over domestic abuse or safeguarding where needed as well as general practice queries.
Nicolette is also available to offer mentoring for mediators who are completing their professional competency portfolio or who are returning to mediation after a career break and require support with their practice.
Nicolette is called upon from time to time by Law firms where there is a need for mentoring or support within their non court dispute resolution team (NCDR). Nicolette is able to visit firms or for individual mediators to visit the Hitchin office.
Call us on 01462 429735 if any of this is of interest. We are happy to tailor our services to suit you where possible.
